Anabelle found me.  And then Evey found me and we were all scared together.

Then mommy found us and was protecting us.  And then daddy found us and was guarding us.

Warthogs in the Sky

WARTHOGS IN THE SKY

Written by Luke (age 31)

Illustrated by Anabelle (age 7)

Winifred Warthog was feeling very alone.

Her family and friends had risen early and wandered over the hill and beyond to the watering hole.  Now the sun was high and the heat made Winifred wilty.

She stayed home beneath a leaning tree and waited.

And waited.

While she waited, Winifred did something she had never done before.  There was nothing happening AROUND her, so she looked UP at the sky.

It was blue and bright like a shimmering watering hole.

And there she saw them — two gray shapes that could almost look like warthogs if you squinted just right.  Winifred watched them.

And watched them.

While she did so, Winifred did not feel so very alone.

Vanilla Sweetpie the Dragon

VANILLA SWEETPIE THE DRAGON

Written and Illustrated by Isley (age 4)

There was a crescent moon with the dragon.

In the morning, there was a sun and stars came up.  And there was a boat.

The dragon blowed fire at all the things in the picture…the sun, the stars, even the crescent moon and even herself.  She even blowed fire on her fire!

The Jug Of Milk

THE JUG OF MILK

by Anabelle (age 7)

Once there was a jug of milk.  All the other milk friends were gone.

There were only two bottles of juice in the refrigerator.  All the other milk friends were taken by people.

The milk was the worst price.  His sticker said “7 pennies.”

The two bottles of juice were always laughing at him.  But then a person came along and really needed milk.  He saw the milk marked for “7 pennies.”  He bought it.

And the milk lived happily ever after… for one day.

THE END

Now the milk knows humans don’t save milk.

The Elephant And The Crab

The Elephant And The Crab

by Anabelle (age 7)

Once there was an elephant.  He was going down to the river to drink some water.  And just when he was about to drink some water, he saw a crab.

He was red and had very sharp claws.

The elephant said “Who are you?”

The crab said “I am a crab” and pinched the elephant’s trunk.

THE END

Now the elephant knows, don’t talk to crabs.
